Grow Great Organic Veggies At Home With Aquaponics

Aquaponics SystemNo matter how much you love gardening, you have to admit that growing your own food is difficult. It takes a lot of time and energy, and you must be very dedicated. On top of that, you have to have a fertile area of soil to grow veggies successfully using traditional gardening methods.

Many people dream of being self sufficient and growing their own organic food, but the reality of gardening often quashes their dreams. Luckily, there is another way to grow completely organic veggies, free of chemicals and pesticides, affordably and easily at home. In fact, you can grow them in your home.

This excellent and innovative gardening method is known as aquaponics, and it is simplicity itself. You can grow both fish and veggies with this super easy, affordable gardening method to provide your family with a complete array of nutrition. It’s very easy to begin. Just fill a good sized fish tank with clean water and prepare it properly for fish.

Once your water is properly treated for fish with chlorine removed, you can stock your tank with Koi, Bluegill, Crappie and/or Chinese Catfish or any other sort of fish that appeals to you and that is allowed in your area. Carefully introduce your fish to the tank and take good care of them for a month or so. This allows the tank to become seasoned and ready to support your veggie garden. You can then sprout your seeds near the surface of the water so your crop can begin growing. The plants will be fed by nutrients in the water, which are generated by your fish.

The plants will also help the fish by keeping the water clean and filtered and adding oxygen to the environment.

Clearly, it is not necessary to have property or use chemicals or fertilizers to successfully engage in aquaponics. All you have to do is set up a healthy, successful aquarium environment with proper temperature and pH levels to keep your fish healthy and happy. Add plants, and you have a garden.

With aquaponic farming, you can grow all kinds of fresh veggies from legumes to greens to a variety of fruits. Additionally, if you also have a land based garden to grow root crops such as garlic, onions, carrots and potatoes, you can use the water from your tank to give your traditional garden extra nutrients.

Establishing and maintaining an aquaponic garden is safe and easy and you get truly fabulous results. It is so easy to work in an aquaponic garden because everything thing you need to attend to is within easy reach. You don’t have to crawl around or dig, and you don’t have to endanger yourself and your family with pesticides and chemicals.
